WUDJ and CampNano Update

So week one is about over, and I sit somewhere around 12000 words in a novel that I had not planned. I forgot how hard it can be to actually sit down and write a little everyday, especially with so much going on in normal life. This year just seems to be extremely busy, I don't know if it's the job, I don't know if it's the idea that a baby is coming, but damn. This month has made me realize that I need to step back and make a list of priorities and goals. I was presented with two fantastic opportunities this month, one I snatched up because I made it happen for me, the other was brought to my attention by facebook.

Let's talk about Camp Nanowrimo and WUDJ first. Like I said above, it's been a challenge to write every night. I missed two nights because I was in a drugged sleep, what can I say, I had a head cold, hell I still have a head cold that's refusing to go away. The hardest part is the fact that I'm writing from the seat of my pants, I didn't plan this novel out at all, and to me that's hard. I'm use to having an outline to go to when I get stuck, or at the very least a break down of what should happen each chapter. I've been forcing myself to write, but I'm not sure how much of it will stay in the final edits. If there are final edits, hell it may sit in a draw waiting for attention like the prequel to it.

The first opportunity I've mentioned last blog post, the fact that I'm writing for Flesh Eating Zipper as a free lance writer. So far I love it, I have one article up, and I'm going to be working on another one today, after I settle opportunity number two. The admin of Flesh Eating Zipper has been great, and I look forward to working with them for a long while.

The second opportunity is actual a contest for an anthology. The entry is pretty simple, 6k words romance/erotic and the prize is publication. I double checked the publisher, and even though they are an e-book publisher, they are a legitimate publisher and it would be the exposure that I want. So I need to come up with a polished entry, I just have a very strong feeling about this.

So a "by the seat of my pants novel", a freelance job, and a contest to enter, see a bit crazy this month.
