It's nearly time

Nanowrimo

Yep, almost time for Nanowrimo. Am I ready? Not really, I haven't even gotten character stuff done and I'm taking a whole new path this year. I'm writing a true paranormal romance. Yeah, you heard me right, I'm putting Society Series away for now, until I can get the first three two books completely polished. I'll come back to that decision in a moment. Right now I want to focus on Nano. Many of you know what Nano means to me, so I'm not going to go through that again. (You can read it here) However, this year is going to prove to hold some interesting challenges, other than to write 50k words. Mainly, I'm going to be almost nine months pregnant during this Nano. Yep...I'm going to be huge, tired, and trying to be prepared for a new born.





The other challenge this year is that I'm going to be working a lot more than I was at this time last year. True, this time last year I had just started this job, but I was in training and wasn't warn out at the end of the day. I was so excited when I found out that I could have my laptop at my desk, but I'm highly doubting I'm going to be able to make word count at work, so I'm going to have to find a schedule that works for me. Even if it's doing 3k a day on my days off.

The other challenge comes from the point up there. I'm writing a paranormal romance. (No, not Twilight-like, and not a fanfic of something) Awakening, the short story from the last blog post, as decided that it doesn't want to be a short story, it wants to be a novel. Why? I'm not sure, but who am I to argue with characters?

Awakening will be my nano, and then I'm going to focus on that and Something's Missing. (Oh yeah, digging that out of the drawer!) as my two main projects to get up and going, and possibly query for in 2012. I want to focus on my stand alones first, and see if I have any better luck with that than I was having with my series. On my off time, or that time of banging my head against other projects, I will be working on the Society Series and seeing what I can do for that. There may be a complete overhaul happening with that.
