Happy New Year

Happy New year to everyone. This is normally the time where I chose to post my goals for the year; however, this year is a little bit different. I want to look back a little bit on my year and reflect on what I accomplished, even if I didn't accomplish any of my goals from last year.

2011 was a fantastic year for me, especially towards the end. I got to travel with my husband a little more. I started working on freelance writing with FEZ. I landed the internship, executive assistant, job with OtherSheep. And the best thing that happened to me is that I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, baby girl.

So I didn't get published, so I didn't fit back into my punk pants (in fact, I donated them) and I didn't submit something every month, (I did manage about six months of that). I still live in a place where cars make a habit of disappearing, and my stereo disappeared this year. (At least it wasn't the whole car again.)  But here is the thing, look at everything that was accomplished this year.

So this is what I have to say. Happy New year, I wish you the best in accomplishing the goals you have set, but more than that. I wish you success in bettering yourself and never giving up. The best advice I have received was 'Never give up, never surrender,' There was a lot more said, but it was about writing; this first part can be applied to anything in life.

Here's to a successful new year, in any way. I have goals this year, but if I accomplish none of them, but succeed somewhere else, what does it matter? At least I am pushing forward in my own way.
